• Our Vision

A united, self-determined Africa leading the global journey toward climate justice — where communities, ecosystems, and generations thrive in harmony, guided by equity, dignity, and the wisdom of our ancestors.

We envision an Africa that speaks for itself, acts for itself, and restores balance to the earth and its people.

  • Our Mission

To reclaim and rebuild the authentic Pan African Climate Justice Movement by:

    • Restoring African ownership and voice in the global climate agenda.

    • Mobilizing and empowering communities across the continent to lead transformative, just, and inclusive climate actions.

    • Advancing policy and advocacy grounded in the principles of justice, equity, and shared responsibility.

    • Reviving indigenous knowledge and solidarity as the foundation for sustainable development and resilience.

    • Building bridges between national, regional, and global actors to ensure Africa’s leadership is visible, respected, and effective.

Our mission is to unify African civil society under one renewed alliance — a movement born from the people, accountable to the people, and advancing the people’s agenda for climate justice.

Welcome to Pan African Climate Justice Alliance South Africa – Born Again as PACJA AFRICA

THE RECLAMATION CALL – Rebuilding the True Voice of Africa

“You can silence a voice for a season, but you cannot silence a people who have awakened to their purpose.”

We Begin Again. Together. For Africa.

The Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) was born in 2008 on African soil — in Johannesburg, South Africa — from the dreams and struggles of African civil society organizations who came together to speak as one voice for justice, dignity, and the planet we call home.

But along the way, that collective ownership — the spirit of unity and purpose that ignited our birth — was overshadowed, fragmented, and taken away from the very people who built it.

Now, we rise again.

PACJA.AFRICA is the reclamation of what was ours:
the space, the story, and the spirit of the African people’s movement for climate justice.
It is not a separation — it is a restoration.
It is not anger — it is awakening.
It is not rebellion — it is renewal.

We rebuild not from what was stolen, but from what still lives in us:
the heartbeat of the land, the resilience of our communities,
and the power of unity in diversity.

From Cape to Cairo, from the Horn to the Islands,
we call on all movements, faith leaders, youth, women, elders, and communities —
to reclaim the African narrative,
to rebuild what was broken,
and to restore the integrity and solidarity of the Pan African Climate Justice vision.

This is our time.

To rebuild the alliance.
To reclaim our dignity.
To renew our purpose.
To remind the world — Africa leads.

PACJA.AFRICA — Rebuilding the True Voice of Africa.
